The Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals.

The Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP), a new scholarship program that will replace the Swedish Institute Study Scholarships (SISS), will make many master’s degrees at Swedish institutions eligible for scholarships in the fall of 2024.

The SI Scholarship for Global Professionals aims to train future global leaders who will promote the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations as well as positive and sustainable development in their respective countries and regions.

Swedish universities and other higher education establishments provide one- or two-year full-time master’s programs.

Students enrolled in about 700 master’s programs taught in English are eligible to apply for the SI award for Global Professionals. The humanities, agricultural science, natural science, social science, public health, and technology are among the fields covered by these programs. Soon, the official website will include the master’s programs that are eligible for the SISGP call for applications for the next academic year.

Bolivia, Brazil, Cameroon, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Moldova, Morocco, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine, Vietnam, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Scholarship value/inclusions/duration:

The scholarship covers all living expenses (up to SEK 12,000 per month), insurance, and a one-time travel reward (up to SEK 10,000–15,000; offered exclusively to recipients who do not live in Sweden).

The award is only available to students enrolled full-time in master’s programs that start in the autumn semester and last one or two years.

No further awards are available to family members. It also doesn’t cover the application price for admission to the university.

Eligibility:

To qualify for the SISGP:

• As previously mentioned, you have to be a citizen of a country that is eligible to receive SI scholarships. However, you do not have to be a citizen of the country at the time of application.

It is necessary that the master’s programs you are applying to provide SI scholarships. The organization prioritizes programs in particular subject areas according to your citizenship.

Verification is required for work experience (differences apply to certain fields). Additionally, you must provide proof of your leadership abilities through your career history or present position in civic society.

• You must be able to pay tuition to Swedish universities, have finished the university admissions process, and have paid the application fee on time in order to be eligible for admission to one of the master’s programs.

Application guidelines:

The application portal will be accessible on the official website from February 12 until February 28, 2024.

Start by completing an online master’s program application at universityadmissions.se before January 15, 2024. After completing your application at universityadmissions.se for a master’s program, you will be assigned a personal application number consisting of eight digits. Please keep the number handy as you will need it to apply for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals.

After submitting your application for a master’s program, you can apply for a SI scholarship. Electronic submission of the required papers through the online application site is required between February 12, 2024, at 00:01, and February 28, 2024, at 14:59 CET.
